ABOUT

H ELLO!

My name is Darsie Stockman

My interest in design is quite broad. I enjoy producing everything from branding and brochures to logos, posters, stickers, and websites. For my capstone project, I chose to design graphics for a clothing line and a website where my brand is displayed. My clothing not only demonstrates the skills I learned at Bethany, but it also expresses my Christian faith, spreads the gospel, and serves as a reminder of God's love. My website is the home for my self-promotional efforts and exhibits the many various things I’ve made.

Since graduating from Bethany, I have been working at Trinity Lutheran School in Janesville, Minnesota, where I have enjoyed using my skills to contribute in various ways, including creating logos, graphics for events, and their yearbook.

While being a student at Bethany, I had the opportunity in 2024 to work at Bethany and demonstrate my skills for various events and platforms.

I am delighted with the apparel I’ve created for what was my senior project and the branding that goes along with it. I have enjoyed putting together the website, because it's allowed me to learn more about Wix and gain more knowledge about web design in general.

I used to live in North Carolina, where I loved the mountains and especially the beach. Living in Minnesota really makes me miss that and I dream about living somewhere on the Carolina coast someday. Sunrises, sunsets, and flowers all provide serotonin boosts for me, and summer is my favorite season. I wanted my brand to reflect these values and my color palette is based on them.

One person who has inspired me to do this was All Things Lily Ann. She is a Christian graphic designer who creates apparel and stationery based on what she loves. I admire how she is open about her faith and how she designs things near to her heart. She is truly happy in her work, and it shows! She uses her own drawings and handwriting in her work, so her style is more handmade. I love work that looks drawn by hand, and some of my work is also hand drawn, but personally, I prefer to create in Adobe Illustrator, where I can freely play with typography and colors.

Each of my designs are based on scripture from the Bible. After choosing what scripture I wanted to use, I decided what visual elements to combine it with. This required a bit of research to determine the appropriate style for my brand. For example, if I chose a globe, I would “Darsify” it by adjusting its form and colors to match the stylistic elements found in my other work.

My purpose is to intentionally design something that others will enjoy, while sharing the Gospel. I am at my best and highly motivated when working on projects that are bright and vibrant, and this is reflected in my work! I have high hopes that the apparel I have created will spark conversations that can lead further into talking about faith.

Working on this project for the past year has expanded my knowledge and love for design. Through various design projects and hands-on experience, my appreciation for producing impactful and effective work has deepened. It has truly been a rewarding experience.

Although I’m uncertain where God is leading me, whether to North Carolina or back here in Minnesota, I am trusting His plan for my future. Maybe a little too much though!
